KATE CHURCHILL

Kate is the 4th girl in a family of eight. She is also the loudest, which explains why her career started in the Theater. Kate was the first Producing Director for the world-renowned Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago. After four years of repertory bliss, she migrated to Los Angeles to chase her dream of becoming a filmmaker. There Kate wore several hatsshe worked as a freelance production coordinator for Disney, developed a television show for Universal, assisted on a handful of independent films and launched her career as a voice-over artist (national campaigns include Coors Light, Luvs Baby Diapers, Noxzema, Coast Soap, Miracle Whip Lite).

Looking to spend time with her Grandmother, Kate moved home to Cambridge, MA and took a position with the long-running PBS television series NOVA. There she served in several capacities including Producer/Director/Writer for Extinction! (an episode of the CINE Golden Eagle Award-Winning Series Evolution), Field Producer and Director for both Neanderthals on Trial and Mystery of the First Americans. As an independent, Kate produced and directed Transform Your Life, a reality-based TV special for PBS and In Search of the Jaguar, a National Geographic Special that won the Genesis Award for Outstanding PBS Documentary.

In 2001, Kate founded her own company, Nama Productions. Obsessed with the process of discovery, Kate scours remote pockets of the world for ideas. When shes not working, Kate can be found talking to her sisters on the phone or paddling the icy New England waters on her pink surfboard.
